Current Position
Dr. Karen Pollock is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology. She joined the Department in January 2003.

Teaching Responsibilities
She has taught in the areas of child phonology, phonetics, and augmentative communication.

Research Interests
Her recent research has focused in three areas: (a) vowel errors in children with phonological disorders, (b) speech-language acquisition in children adopted from China, and (c) phonological characteristics of African American Vernacular English.

Educational Background
Dr. Pollock has a B.A. and M.A. in linguistics from the University of Oregon, an M.A. in speech pathology from the University of Oregon, and a Ph.D. in speech pathology from Purdue University.
