Three Centres are housed in the Department of Secondary Education: the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education (CMASTE), the Curriculum and Pedagogy Institute (CPIn), and the Institute for Peace Education.
The Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education (CMASTE) provides resource materials, workshops and information for pre-service and inservice teachers, seed funding for research and acts as a clearing house for the CRYSTAL.
The Department of Secondary Education also offers several teacher professional development programs for teachers from overseas --- Hokkaido Teachers of English Program (HTEP), Kangwon Teacher Education Program (KTEP) and a new pilot program offered for the first time in July 2007, the Gyeongin National University Student Teacher Pilot Program (GTEP).
