A statement from Carl Amrhein, Provost and Vice-President Academic, University of Alberta about incident yesterday on campus
A person was assaulted today at the University of Alberta and was treated at University Health Services, then taken to hospital. The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) believe it was a targeted incident. The University immediately responded and appropriate measures were taken with the EPS to assure the safety of students and staff. EPS and university administrators are confident that the campus remains a safe place in which to learn, teach and work, however Campus Security Services will be on a heightened alert to assure additional safety.
