Excerpts from: Dare to Discover: A Vision for a Great University

The Office of Student Judicial Affairs, formerly known as the Discipline Office, is one of the offices (along with Deans, Directors and Uniersity of Alberta Protective Services) delegated by GFC to deal with violations of the Code of Student Behaviour.

In order to fulfill this role, we have taken a dual approach to discipline matters: we promote awareness of the Code of Student Behaviour, compliance with the rules, and ethical behaviour.

At the same time, we are required to address violations of the Code that have been referred to us by Campus Security Services, Faculty Offices or other Unit Directors.

By emphasizing promotion of personal responsibility, respect for others, and courage to do what is right, we hope to reach for the ideals outlined in our President’s vision for the University of Alberta.
