Benefits of orthodontic treatment at the University of Alberta.

  • Our residents and staff utilize advanced technologies, techniques, and materials so they can offer the most contemporary diagnostics and orthodontic care.
  • Our faculty and residents are trained to make use of new research results and, based on their findings; provide the best patient care possible. By attending the University of Alberta for your treatment you have access to some of the most recent research discoveries in orthodontic care.
  • A complete explanation of your condition, treatment options, and any related cost estimates will be provided, similar to an Orthodontic private practice.  Our friendly staff is happy to assist you with insurance forms and answer questions regarding finances. We believe that our patients should participate in the decisions about their care - and we are happy to take the time to answer your questions.
  • Reduced fees: In addition to receiving quality care our patients have their services provided at a reduced rate.  Our fees are set at approximately 60% of private practice specialty fees.
  • Our patients receive orthodontic treatment that meets the standard of care for both the Alberta Dental Association and the Canadian Association of Orthodontists.

Limitations of orthodontic treatment at the University of Alberta.

  • In the Orthodontic Graduate Clinic faculty members, who are also certified orthodontic specialists, supervise and evaluate each step of the care provided. Because of this, services may take longer than they would in a private orthodontic office. This attention to detail requires more of your time and also limits flexibility for appointment scheduling. Patients accepted into orthodontic treatment are assigned to a specific professor for supervision and must attend appointments on the day that professor is teaching. Therefore, if you are assigned to a professor that teaches on Mondays – your appointments will be available only on Mondays.
  • The University of Alberta Orthodontic Graduate Clinic is a great treatment option for families who are able to conduct their lives around our very rigid schedule.
