BA Classics Program
Four Year B.A. Programme in Classics
Students are invited to consult with the departmental advisors for information on programme requirements as well as for advice regarding career plans and specific course selections in Classics and other subjects. The requirements are quoted below from the University of Alberta 2007/08 Calendar.
43.4.3 Major and Minor in Classics
Major Areas of Concentration
- Classical Studies: minimum of *30, maximum of *48 in Classics courses at the senior level with at least *6 weight at the 400-level. HIST 324 may be counted toward a major in Classical Studies. (May be combined with a minor in Classical Language.) Note: see §43.3(5) regarding cross-listed regulations.
- Classical Language: minimum of *30, maximum of *48 in Greek and/or Latin courses at the senior level with at least *6 at the 400-level. (May be combined with a minor in Classical Studies.)
- Minor Requirement: *12 at the senior level in Classics or in Greek and Latin. This option does not apply to students majoring in (3) above. Also see §42.3(5) in the University Calendar.
