Inside/OUT 2009/2010 Speakers' Series: "Jericho: Stories and Lessons In/Tolerance and Doing Queer in Poland"

Ruth DyckFehderau, Sessional Instructor, Department of English and Film Studies, of the University of Alberta, will speak about her 2002 visit with a professor in Poland, a deeply Catholic country, where she taught Canadian film and queer literature under a proudly heterosexist, sometimes homophobic, administration. This presentation is drawn from a creative non-fiction piece of travel writing and pedagogic musings about her experience.
