The Faculty of Education at the U of A is one of the largest in the country. We can offer you a variety of unique programs that fit your individual needs. We offer several undergraduate options including 4 year programs, 5 year combined programs, collaborative programs and after degree programs.

We also offer a wide variety of graduate programs for the preparation of educational specialists. The degrees are Master of Education, Master of Library and Information Studies, Doctor of Education, and Doctor of Philosophy.

There is something special about our graduates. In addition to teaching in elementary and secondary classrooms throughout Canada and around the world, we have graduates who are instructing in technical institutes and colleges. In addition, others are working in supervisory or administrative positions overseeing educational programs and running consulting businesses for families with children with special needs.

Some careers our graduates go on to:

• Welfare and community service (child care workers, social workers, police officers, educational and vocational counsellors)
• Managerial and administrative positions (school administrators and personnel officers)
• Sales (for educational publishers and other suppliers)
• Trainers in the public and the private sectors
