Dr. Liu's field of study is mineral processing and extractive metallurgy. His current research interests are froth flotation and the underlying solution chemistry, colloid/surface chemistry and electrochemistry issues. He is a project leader with the Imperial Oil-Alberta Ingenuity Centre for Oil Sands Innovation (COSI), and is currently involved in two COSI research projects.
