Ethics Training Requirements
Ethics and academic integrity training is mandatory for all newly admitted University of Alberta graduate students who started their program on or after September 1, 2004.
This is a requirement of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research which must be completed in order to receive a degree. Each student is normally expected to complete the equivalent of at least eight (8) hours of structured academic activity.
The requirement can be met in the Department of History and Classics in the following manner:
- Complete a web-based course offered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (equivalent to five hours of training). The course is available at the FGSR website.
- Three sessions of History 602/Classics 501 is devoted to ethics issues.
