School in Cortona

Each year, students from all disciplines and universities travel to Cortona, Italy and enrol in Arts courses that take advantage of this unique Tuscan location. U of A professors conduct regular classroom lectures (in English) on diverse topics like Renaissance Art, Roman Civilization, Archaeology and Social History, Anthropology and introductory courses in Italian and French. Instead of studying it in a textbook, students actually travel to see Michelangelo's David. Instead of learning Italian in a lab, the students live it.

The School in Cortona has expanded to the Fall term! Starting in September 2009, students can choose either the Fall or Winter (or both) for their studies in Cortona. Further details are in the 2009/10 Calendar, which you can pick up (free of charge) at the Faculty of Arts office (6-5 Humanities Centre).
