STUDENTS COMMUNITY PARTNERS CSL News Stretched to the Limit - Economic Impact Survey, Alberta’s Nonprofits & Charities. Alberta’s voluntary sector is resilient and resourceful. Nonprofits and charities have been adapting to the recession, but they are stretched to the limit. They have little capacity to adjust to increased demand or reduced funding as the greatest impact of the recession hits the sector in 2010. Workshop: Acing the Non-profit Interview
Gain an edge in your interviews by listening to the advice of the interviewers themselves. In this industry-specific panel, you will hear from employers about how they interview, what they look for in candidates and what you can do to prepare. You will be able to pose your own questions to the panel. You will leave the event with an interview guide for future reference and a voucher for a free Mock Interview. Then register to attend "To Boldly Develop Your Career: Volunteer and Work Abroad", February 4 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sponsored by CSL and CAPS: Your UofA Career Centre, this career exploration event will spotlight speakers who will share their career stories and offer advice regarding valuable international and local volunteer and work opportunities and offer tips for work search strategies. Speakers will answer questions related to career options and successful strategies to enhance employability in humanitarian international and local development work.
