ABORIGINAL GAMING IN CANADA: AN OVERVIEW OF THE ISSUES AFFECTING AN INDUSTRY IN ITS INFANCY

This grant supports the production of a manuscript which will provide a comprehensive overview of Aboriginal gaming in Canada.  It will focus on the economic impacts at the reserve level and government policy practices relating to Aboriginal gaming.

 

Status (Complete)


A book entitled Gambling with the Future: The Evolution of Aboriginal Gaming has been accepted by Purich Publishing and is scheduled to be published in September 2006. The author was also one of four panel members for the Royal Society of Canada panel presentations and open discussion, Aboriginal Casinos: Who’s Cashing In? held at the University of Lethbridge in November 2005.
