The validity of problem gambling assessment instruments and etiological models of problem gambling is limited by the lack of cross-cultural research. The first objective of this investigation is to evaluate the reliability and validity of the main problem gambling assessment instruments within a South Korean context. The second is to better understand the epidemiology of Korean problem gambling so as to aid in the development of robust cross-cultural etiological models. The final objective is to compare the relative validity of online surveys to telephone surveys.
